DR Cibao Altura is a natural processed coffee that is grown in the Cibao region of the Dominican Republic. It is known for its smooth, balanced flavor with notes of tropical fruits, milk chocolate, and sweetness. The beans are grown at high altitudes, between 1,300 and 1,500 meters above sea level, which gives them a chance to develop slowly and produce a complex flavor profile. This coffee is contracted through our Dominican sourcing partner PauloPaiewonsky.
Coffee from this relatively new coffee growing area is mainly exported to Japan as a substitute for Blue Mountain.
