Colombia / Sidra Honey Anniversary Coffee
Colombia / Sidra Honey Anniversary Coffee
XIV Anniversary Micro-Lot
We’re excited to release this extremely limited release for our 14th anniversary of Alabaster, as a reflection of our mission to Cultivate Community Through the Elevation of Coffee Culture.
Our friend & Colombian coffee partner Caroline Posada (Mina Rica Coffee) sourced this for us. From the Medellín-Antioquia region of Colombia, this is a Sidra (Sydra/Sidra-Bourbon) variety, a lesser known coffee variety originally from Ecuador. Some people claim Sidra originated from a commercially owned coffee breeding facility that worked to develop Typica and Bourbon variety hybrids. While some genetic testing also shows markers similar to Ethiopia Heorloom varieties, there is currently no clear genetic parentage for the Sidra variety. What we do find is a beautiful cup profile with the sweet, floral, and fruited notes we’ve come to love in those varieties and the cup complexity of honey processing.
